I can't think of a dang title

Meat and K got back from their honeymoon on Saturday. I went over Sunday afternoon to hang out for a bit and take them their mail, since I'd collected it for them while they were gone. Meat had gotten me this beautiful bag that's kind of like a fancy tote bag! It's so pretty. So now I'm not bitter about the bridesmaid gift. :)

The temp job is fine so far. It's kind of repetitive and boring, but that's what you get when you're just trying to catch them up, right? The people are nice and it's a decent place to work, so it's all good. I'm just having to get used to getting up early again!

And lastly, our quote for the day: (hee hee!)
Where lipstick is concerned, the important thing is not color, but to accept God's final word on where your lips end. -- Jerry Seinfeld

Just Stuff

Today Mom and I and a handful of others sang at a memorial service for a lady that went to church here. The actual funeral was in Alabama since that's where she was originally from. I didn't know the couple well and probably wouldn't have gone to the memorial if I weren't singing. I'd heard that they'd been married a long time, but it turns out that they were only a few months shy of being married 70 years. Seventy years. I haven't even been alive for half of that length of time. And the sweet thing was that you could see how upset the husband was, how much he missed her, still crying because of his loss of her. Isn't that the kind of love we all hope for?

I start a temp job on Monday. I'll be working for a few weeks at a large company about 20 miles north of here. Apparently there's a department that's behind and needs some catching up. Suzy to the rescue! I'm glad to have the job, because I can certainly use the money. But I was also really bummed about it, especially when I first found out about it, because it means I'll lose all the time I get with Master online during the day. But I know this is a good thing, so back to work I go. At least for a few weeks.

Baby Steps

Today I went to the post office to mail off my fingerprint card to the FBI so I can get my police clearance certificate for the immigration application. And next Friday is my medical exam in Cincinnati with a DMP. For those of you not immigrating to Canada, that would be a Designated Medical Practitioner. I have this little hope of being in Edmonton by my birthday. :)

And, yes, Blogger made me switch today. Dang it.

Meat's Wedding

It all started with the rehearsal on Friday, which went fairly well. Although Meat and K never bothered to introduce us all to each other, so as I'm walking down the aisle with K's brother, Dave, I said "I'm Suzy, by the way." And he said he was Dave, which I already knew, but he didn't know that.

The rehearsal dinner was at a nice place here in the town square. We had the back room for just our party, which was also nice. I was kind of bored for much of the dinner. I was sitting with 4 former high school classmates of mine. They were all helping with the wedding in various capacities. Of the 4, three of them have babies that are a year old or less, and the fourth is pregnant for the first time. You can guess how much of the conversation had to do with babies, and you can probably also guess how much I had to say about it. So, I was bored. I had kinda figured that since no one had really been introduced at the rehearsal, that Meat and K would do it at the dinner. Nope, wrong again. When they decided to hand out our bridesmaid and groomsman gifts, they just walked around and handed them out. And I have to admit, I was a little disappointed about the gift. Meat had purchased a bunch of gold bangle bracelets for us to wear in the wedding. Now, I realize it's common for the bridesmaid's gift to include the jewelry they're going to wear. That's what Jiffy did. But she also gave us some incense and smell good beads to go with it. While I realize that Meat and K are on a tight budget right now, I had to admit I was kind of disappointed that the bridesmaid gift were our bangle bracelets... and that's it. Oh goody, something I'll never wear again! Just what I wanted!

So, after the rehearsal dinner, some of us headed to the reception hall to keep decorating. I know a bunch of them had been working on it that afternoon. I didn't go then partly so I could have time with Master and partly because I'd done the spray-on tan that morning and couldn't shower for a while afterwards! We got some good things done, but it was after midnight before we left, and I was fading fast. Fortunately I didn't have to get up real early the next morning.

I had agreed to meet Meat back at the reception hall at 9 Saturday morning to finish up a few more things with the decorating. I was glad that when I arrived, she seemed happy and relaxed, because I was concerned that she'd still be stressed. We finished up what we needed to do and left a little after 10. I went home so I could shower and have something to eat.

My hair appt. was at 1 with one of the other bridesmaids. Meat and the matron of honor had their appts at noon. As Meat was finishing up with her hair (which was gorgeous!) we noticed that one of our sixth grade teachers - Mrs. W - was there getting her nails done, although she's now the assistant superintendant of the district. She immediately recognized me (it helps that I've seen her a few times since I was 12) and when I told her Meat was around the corner, she came back to say hi. She was excited for Meat and I think she was kind of excited to know that she'd known us all the way back to almost the beginning of our friendship. It was one of those moments when I love where I went to school because I know that most of the teachers I've had really care about their students, even when they're no longer in their class.

The girl that did my hair did a great job. She curled it all and pulled some of the sides back. Of course, I had a TON of hairspray in my hair, but the curls were still falling out by the end of the night. The fact that it was snowing didn't help. But it looked great and that's all that mattered!

Got to the church, had a sandwich, started getting ready, all that kind of stuff. I ended up not wearing the heels. I just couldn't do it. I found out Friday at the rehearsal that I was going to be standing on a step at the front of the church for most of the ceremony, and the step was only about 6-8 inches deep. Not a big deal normally, but if I'm worried about keeping my balance anyway, that didn't seem like a good place to stand. So... no heels. As long as I was walking forward, I was okay, but I still ended up stepping on the bottom of the pants all night. Oh well. Meat had bought bindis for us bridesmaids to wear, so I got to look extra exotic! Meat had all kind of Indian decoration on. At one point when she was almost finished getting ready, she said "I've never looked this Indian in my life!" lol Her daugher, who just turned 3, was so cute I can't even tell you! Meat had taken one of the bindis and cut it in half (we had decorative ones, not the plain red circles) and put it on her daughter. I took a picture of her, so I'll have to post it after I get the pictures developed. I normally wouldn't post a photo of someone's else's kid, but you all just have to see how precious she looked!

We did some photos beforehand, but Meat and K didn't see each other before the ceremony, so some of them had to wait until afterwards. The ceremony was wonderful. Everyone looked fantastic, everyone did what they were supposed to, and everything went off without a hitch!

The reception also went really well, for the most part. A couple little hitches here and there, but nothing too bad. I didn't dance much, partly because my feet were starting to hurt even with the flats, partly because I'm not good at dancing unless there's a pole involved (HA!), and partly because the man I'd most want to dance with wasn't there. I did dance with 2 guys. I had to dance with K's brother Dave for the wedding party dance. That was okay because he was a nice enough guy. And I danced with an old classmate, Matt, who I've known since elementary school and he was the valedictorian of our class. Matt makes me feel like such a slacker. After high school, he got a degree in economics from Dartmouth. Then after working in NY for a few years, decided to join the Peace Corps and spent 2 years in Africa. He's now completing some pre-med courses while he works on some cancer research and will be starting med school in the fall. And where is Suzy? Unemployed and living with Mom! I know that's not a fair comparison, but it's still funny. :)

After people had pretty much left, we still had to clean up the hall. Fortunately, that didn't take long since the caterers had already been cleaning off the tables almost entirely, so we mostly just had to take down some lights and ribbon. Yea! I was so exhausted by that point, so I was glad that we weren't there as late as I was afraid we might be.

So that was the wedding! My mom took her new digital camera to the wedding and reception, but she's still learning what to do with it. If she can download the pics to her puter and send them to me, I'll have some to post fairly soon. If not, then it might be a little while. But I promise I'll post them sooner or later so you can all see Exotic Suzy! :)

Almost Post

I survived the weekend! I'll post about everything soon, maybe tomorrow, but it's going to take me a while to type it all (so this serves as advance notice that it'll be a long post), so it's not going to get done today. But it was a good weekend and there were no major bad things. I didn't fall or trip because I ended up not wearing the heels. I just couldn't do it! But all of that to come later.

Blogger hasn't forced me to switch over yet, but I'm sure they will. When I do, maybe I'll turn on the comment verification thingy. I never bothered with it before, but I'm getting a lot more spam comments now. Dang spam. I guess we'll see what happens.

Big Day

(Is Blogger going to force me to switch to the new format?) :(

Tomorrow is Meat's wedding day. I'll be kind of glad when it's all over. Meat's stressed out about trying to get everything done, and her fiance, K, isn't always being a big help. And once it's all over, I won't have to worry about falling over in heels, since I almost never wear heels. Everyone please keep your fingers crossed and say a little prayer for me tomorrow around 4:30 and 5 (which will be about the times when I walk down and then up the aisle) in the hopes that I don't fall on my face! Or any other body part!

Snow Day Thoughts

Today was another snow day, but definitely with good reason. We've gotten around 6 inches of snow and it's been sleeting for the last couple hours. Fun!

I really miss my Owner. I've been so horny the last couple days, so needy for Master's special attention, and completely unable to get it in the way that I really need - in person. I just ache for him, in more ways than one. I miss his perfect cock. I miss being hot and rough with him, and then feeling him hold me close and take care of his baby girl. I just need to be home with him.

Michigan Drivers

I hate Michigan drivers. Really. Interstate 75 runs through my hometown here, so we often have MI drivers that are heading to or from MI on 75. And I hate them all. It seems like every single one of them is rude and therefore often dangerous. They all speed (more than most of us) and they all tailgate. Let me give you all (so captivated as you are, I know) a recent example of this which brought up all my MI driver hatred again.

As you know, I went to the doctor on Friday. The doctor's office is in the town north of here, maybe 10-15 miles north. So I took I-75 to get there as it's the quickest and easiest route. On my way back, I'm in the left lane passing someone and going about 5 miles over the speed limit. Someone comes up and starts tailing me, when it's clear I can't get over in the left lane. No big surprise, once I do move over and they pass me... it's a MI driver! We get a few more miles down the road, I'm passing again, and this big truck comes up behind me and - you guessed it! - starts tailing me. When I'm able, I move back over to the right lane, the truck speeds on down the road and - shock of shocks! - it's another stupid MI driver! I hate them all.

So a word to all of you Michigan drivers: just because you drive like a jackass in your state doesn't mean you need to do the same in ours!

I was out running some errands yesterday and I was waiting a red light behind a MI car. The little plastic license plate holder was advertising a dealership in Battle Creek. DeMaagd. I thought to myself "that looks an awful lot like damaged." And in fact, as I realized later, if you rearrange the letters, it actually spells damaged! Coincidence? Yeah, probably, but it still struck me as funny.

I'm infected

I went to the doctor yesterday because I still wasn't really feeling that great. She thinks I probably have a sinus infection. So now I'm taking antibiotics and a decongestant. Truth is, I already feel some better. :)

Even though I went to the doctor's office a few weeks ago to renew my prescriptions, I really only saw the nurse practitioner because... well, I knew her personally and she knew my situation and all. However, she has since moved out of state, so I had to make an appt. with someone I didn't know, since I haven't actually seen any of the doctor's at this place since before I moved to IL, and the 2 docs I did know have now both left the practice. (I know that probably sounds like a bad sign, but since I go to church with one of the doctors that left, I know why he left and it's nothing bad.) The new doctor walked into my little exam room yesterday and... she looked to be about my age! I had to consciously remind myself that, yes, she did have to complete medical school to be here and, yes, I personally know one of the people that would've hired her and I trust his judgment. But it still kinda caught me off guard, especially since she was this tiny little thing. When I was sitting on the exam table I actually had to lean over a little so she could look in my ears and throat! Oh well, at least she gave me drugs. :)

Stupid, Stupid, Stupid

I am so stupid. I knew better.

I was at amazon.com looking at shoes, when I saw something about engagement rings. I thought, "Maybe I'll go look. There's no harm in that, right?" What a load of crap. I knew there was harm in it. I knew it would make me want something I won't have. I sat there looking at these beautiful rings and I cried. (That didn't help my nose, either.) I'm so stupid! I try not to think about the pretty rings I won't get because it just makes me upset and then I just knowingly walk right into it. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

*Cough* Just Stuff *Cough*

So... I'm still coughing. Whatever kind of sickness this is (probably a bad cold) has moved from my chest into my head. So now instead of a dry cough, it's a phlegmy kind of cough. And I'm blowing my nose more. The good news is that I do actually feel some better, so I think it's just taking it's sweet time to work itself through. I'm still really glad I have just over a week to the wedding.

Speaking of which, I went back to the alteration lady's today because my pants were finished. When I tried them on, what she'd done worked really well. The waist of the pants now actually comes up to my waist! And my crotch can stay where it is! The bad news is that the pants are just a little too long, which we couldn't tell before because of the pants not fitting. (So much for being custom made, eh? I would not recommend that site to anyone!) She can't just hem the pants since there's beading at the bottom. So they're just going to have to stay a little long. Now I'm trying to decide if I stay with the flats I've got, or - like she suggested - get heels to wear for the ceremony, and wear the flats at the reception. What do you all think?

Growing up, I loved snow days. It was especially nice because, since my mom works for the school district, we'd get a call any time there was a delay or cancellation, so we never even had to pay attention to the TV. Even while I was living in IL I liked snow days because there was less traffic on the roads. But now? I'm not liking snow days so much. It meant that I spent the last three days being cooped up with my mom. I was actually kind of glad I was sick because she didn't give me a hard time about anything. Thankfully, after a delay this morning, they're back at school. Hallelujah!

Lastly, here's our quote for the day:
In my many years I have come to a conclusion that one useless man is a shame, two is a law firm, and three or more is a congress. -- John Adams

The Day After

Ah, the Super Bowl. The first half was awesome. Back and forth, both teams going at it, a close score... all the things I was looking forward to! The second half? I'm not even sure why the Bears came back onto the field because they sure weren't playing like they were there. So, the Colts won, as they deserved to. I'm happy for Peyton Manning and Tony Dungy. I'm bummed for the Bears, although it's pretty much their own fault. Rex Grossman needs to learn how to be good consistently instead of just, oh, sometimes. I believe he can do it, so I'm hoping next year will be better. This year, after all, was his first full season to play.

And now? Now is the letdown of NFL football season being over. I have no idea what I'm going to do on Sunday afternoons. Well, at least while I'm still at Mom's. Once I get to Edmonton I know exactly who I'll be doing on Sunday afternoons. ;)

I'm still trying to fight off this sore throat thingy I've got going on. I feel a little better today, so I'm hoping that's a good sign. However, if it still seems pretty crappy tomorrow, Suzy will be going to the doctor. So let's hope it gets better since I don't want to have to pay for another doctor visit! (Or even a nurse practitioner visit!)

By the way, I loved watching Prince sing Purple Rain last night. In the rain. The rest of his show was okay, but that's the part I really enjoyed. :)

Friday, February 02, 2007

Well, Mom was sick last week and I thought enough time had passed that I'd managed not to catch it. Not so fast! Last night my throat started feeling scratchy and this morning it was still scratchy and kind of swollen feeling. Oh well. I'm not puking or feverish and that's always a good thing. And I'd much rather do this now than 2 weeks from now when it's time for Meat's wedding. But it didn't help that Dirk's latest post totally made me bawl my eyes out. It reminded me a lot of what happened with my Elmo and that still breaks my heart.

I hope everyone has a good - and healthy - weekend. I'm really looking forward to the Super Bowl on Sunday night! I know I'll be really happy for whichever team that wins and a little sad for whoever loses, but more than anything, I'm looking forward to watching a really good game. I can't wait!
